NWA Advises Temporary Closure of Courtney Walsh Drive (Derrymore Road), Hot Mix Patching along Hope Road, St. Andrew

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to expect minor delays along Eastwood Park Road in the vicinity of the upper section of Courtney Walsh Drive for a period of eight hours, starting this evening. The section of Courtney Walsh Drive (Derrymore Road), between Eastwood Park Road and Constant Spring Road will be closed at 9:00 p.m. and is scheduled to reopen at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow.

This temporary closure of is to facilitate base repairs and repaving works along this section of the roadway.

The alternative route , especially for Jamaica Urban Transport Company (JUTC) buses that use this section of Courtney Walsh Drive (Derrymore Road) is to continue along Eastwood Park Road, turn right at its intersection with Red Hills Road, then turn right onto Constant Spring Road.

In the meantime, the NWA is advising that one of its Force Account Teams will be carrying out 350 square metres of Hot Mix patching along Hope Road, between Half Way Tree and Liguanea. The patching exercise is slated to begin on Thursday, April 24, and is expected to be completed by Friday, April 25, 2014.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to obey all posted warning and directional signs and the instructions of flag persons while repaving and patching along these roadways are in progress.
