The NWA and the TEF Undertake Multi-million Dollar Rehabilitation of the Torrington to Pennycooke roadway in Westmoreland

The National Works Agency (NWA) and the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF) have joined forces to effect the much needed rehabilitation of the Torrington to Pennycooke roadway in Westmoreland.

This corridor, which spans the constituencies of Western and Central Westmoreland, serves several communities including Bath, Barham, Banbury and Bleauwarie. Additionally, the roadway is used to access Mayfield Falls, a popular tourist attraction in Westmoreland.

Community Relations Officer at the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that the project, involves, bushing and drain cleaning, and the patching and local rehabilitation of sections of the roadway.

This project is valued at approximately $19 million and is being funded by the (TEF). The project is being executed by one of the NWA’s Force Account teams.
