The National Works Agency (NWA) is in the final stages of completion of a multi-million dollar rehabiliation project along the Lethe roadway in Eastern Hanover.

The Lethe corridor is used to access several tourist attractions and activities, located within the Lethe community. These inculde ziplining and river rafting.

Community Relations Officer for the NWA’s Western Region, Janel Ricketts, says that the project involves the patching and local rehabiliation of sections of the one (1) km stretch of roadway; and significant drainage improvement to include the cleaning of drains.

To date, the NWA has completed the patching of the roadway, and much of the structural work. The focus is now being placed on the completion of the improved drainage features along the corridor.

Ms. Ricketts says the project is being executed at a cost of just under  nine million dollars, through the Tourism Enhancement Fund (TEF). This project is expected to be completed before the end of November 2013.

In the meantime, the NWA recently completed the patching of approximately four thousand (4,000) square metres of roadway across five road sections in the parish of Hanover. This project targeted sections of the Riley to Bushmouth main road; the stretch of roadway between Salt Spring and Moreland and the Flint River to Cascade corridor.
