The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that beginning Tuesday, August 23, 2011 there will be temporary changes to traffic movement along Ocean Boulevard for the next three weeks until September 16, 2011. These changes are to facilitate repairs to the deteriorating road surface.

Two-way traffic will be allowed along the east bound lanes, which are the lanes on the harbor side, while repairs are carried out on the west bound side. When paving of the west bound lanes are complete it will be dualised to facilitate paving of the east bound lanes as well as traffic movement along the boulevard.

No parking will be allowed along Ocean Boulevard for the duration of the project.

Works include milling to remove worn asphalt and paving with Asphaltic Concrete.

Motorists, wishing to avoid the likelihood of delays may use the alternative routes, Port Royal Street or Harbour Street.

Meanwhile the Agency’s pavement works now underway in the Cross Roads area of St. Andrew has been extended to Monday, August 29, 2011.

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons at both locations.
