The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that Orion Avenue in east Harbour View, St. Andrew, will be closed at its intersection with the Harbour View main road for six weeks, from Sunday, July 24, 2011 until August 31, 2011.
This closure of the roadway is to facilitate construction of the approach ramp to the new Dry River Bridge and the completion of associated drainage works.
The alternative route for motorists travelling westerly that is from the direction of Bull Bay or easterly, that is from the direction of the roundabout and wishing to access east Harbour, is via Lunar Drive.
These works are part of the US$8.9 million Transport Infrastructure Rehabilitation Programme funded by the Inter American Development Bank to construct the new Dry River Bridge and undertake road improvements in Harbour View.
The NWA is asking motorists who use this corridor to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
