The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists using the Junction main road in St. Mary to proceed with caution as the Agency is now carrying out patching of the roadway between Tom’s River and the Aqualta Vale roundabout.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw says, patching of the 18 kilometre long section of roadway began on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 and will continue for 6-8m weeks, to be completed by the middle of August. Mr. Shaw says that approximately 3,800 square metres of patching will be undertaken by one of the Agency’s Force Account teams during the eight week period and is expected to cost $8 million.

He says that patching along the roadway will be carried out on week days only, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. each day.

The NWA is also advising motorists to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while patching is in progress.
