The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising that patching of several roadways in Clarendon is underway. The roadways targeted are Whitney Turn to Four Paths, May Pen to Chapleton, Green Bottom to Four Paths and Four Paths to Free Town.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw says that preparatory works for patching began during the first week of June and patching along these roadways is expected to be completed by this Friday, July 15, 2011. Mr. Shaw says that approximately 3, 300 square metres of patching is to be undertaken along the four corridors. He says that patching of the roadway includes squaring of the potholes, filling with graded material and patching with Asphaltic Concrete.

The project is over sixty seven percent (67%) complete and is being undertaken by one of the Agency’s Force Account patching crews. The project is expected to cost just over seven million dollars.

The NWA is asking motorists obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while patching is in progress.
