Minister of State in the Ministry of Transport, Works and Housing (MTWH), Hon. Richard Azan is advising that rehabilitation works along the five (5) kilometres of the White House to Belmont main road in Westmoreland is to begin shortly.

Minister Azan says that funds for this project have been secured and it is now at procurement stage. He says that efforts are now being made to complete the process this week and have it sent to the National Contracts Commission (NCC) for their endorsement.

In the meantime the National Works Agency has been clearing blockages along the roadway and will be carrying out temporary repairs to the affected areas. This is being done to facilitate the smooth flow of traffic along the corridor until the contractor is mobilized to come on site and begin the project.

The NWA is advising motorists who use this corridor to expect minor delays. The NWA is also asking motorists to obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag person while the temporary repairs are in progress.
