Temporary Closure of George Lee Boulevard in the vicinity of the Bridge Adjacent to Megamart St. Catherine

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that the George Lee Boulevard in Portmore, St. Catherine, in the vicinity of the bridge adjacent to Megamart will be reduced to single lane usage alternatively, on Sunday, June 16, 2013 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

The alternative usage of this section of the Boulevard is to facilitate repair works to the bridge’s western approach which is undermined.

To avoid delays, motorists travelling from the direction of Greater Portmore, heading towards George Lee Boulevard may use the alternative route through Naggo’s Head then turn left onto Newlands Road, onto Passage Fort Drive then onto George Lee Boulevard.

Motorists travelling from the direction of Highway 2000 and heading towards Greater Portmore may travel along the Portmore Plaza ring road, turn right onto George Lee Boulevard, then left onto Passage Fort Drive, left onto Municipal Boulevard then onto Greater Portmore.

Motorists are advised to proceed with caution, obey the instructions of flag persons and posted warning and directional signs while work is in progress along the boulevard.
