The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists that Seaview Avenue in St. Andrew, connecting Old Hope Road and Lady Musgrave Road will be temporarily closed for six weeks, from Monday July 11, 2011 to Friday, August 19, 2011.

Closure of the roadway is to facilitate road rehabilitation works.

Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the National Works Agency, Stephen Shaw says that the rehabilitation works include cleaning of side drains, milling of the roadway to remove the uneven surface followed by paving with Asphaltic Concrete. Mr. Shaw says persons who reside along this roadway will be allowed access; however motorists who use this corridor should determine suitable alternative routes.

This project is one of several in St. Andrew that is being undertaken through the Jamaica Development Infrastructure Programme (JDIP) by the sub-contractor Surrey Paving & Aggregates Limited and is expected to cost just over twenty two million dollars.

The NWA is asking motorists obey the posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
